Jensen Beach, Fl-The Children's Museum of the Treasure Coast has hired Olivia Labrador as their program coordinator. Olivia will be responsible for planning, coordinating and scheduling all educational programs for the museum including school field trips and outreach activities. She will also lead the museum's volunteer program by recruiting volunteers and providing ongoing support and training.
The Children's Museum will offer on-site outreach opportunities as well as field trips to the museum. "I look forward to developing an educational program with quality content for children and their families", said Labrador. "The possibilities are endless when it comes to reaching new audiences, even teens and adults, through creative teaching tools".
Olivia recently relocated to the Treasure Coast with her family from Plantation, where she served as the program coordinator for the Young at Art museum.
"Educational programming is our priority", said Renee Booth, Executive Director of The Children's Museum of the Treasure Coast. "Olivia will be an essential part of our team, developing a curriculum for museum tours and outreach programs that meet the Florida Sunshine State Standards".
The Children's Museum of the Treasure Coast is located in the Indian Riverside Park, 1707 NE Indian River Drive, Jensen Beach and will open to the public Saturday, August 02, 2008. Admission will be $6.00 per person and memberships allowing unlimited admission are available.
For more information about The Children's Museum, educational programming, tours, memberships or volunteer opportunities please contact the museum office at 772-225-7575.
The Children's Museum of the Treasure Coast will feature hands-on, interactive exhibits, cultural experiences and educational activities. The museum is pursuing LEED certification and the key innovation of the sustainable features in The Children's Museum will be the use of the building itself as a teaching mechanism, integrating signage explaining "green" features while creating environmental awareness. Tours will also be designed to teach children and their families the merits of sustainable building design.
For information on the many ways you can support the Children's Museum please call Renee Booth at 772-225-7575. The Children's Museum of the Treasure Coast is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. Charitable donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
