Just a few things to remember ...
Contributed by: Debbie Batteiger/YourHub.com   on 12/13/2006

As we reach another holiday season, I am struck by the amount of information I need to retain this time of year. Having kids, you can imagine how long that list can be!

YourHub.com makes it easy for you to remember the answers by offering an outlet to post the information. However, like any good thing, we do ask you to follow a few guidelines.

YourHub.com asks you to post your story or calendar item on the web site at least two weeks prior to the event. As space in the print edition is limited and not guaranteed, we do try to print as many timely items as possible and it helps if you are able to post as early as you can.

When posting photos, jpeg files are preferred. Most digital photos are already jpegs but if you have a question all you need to do is check out the file name.

Another good hint about whether the photo will be able to be used in the print edition, is the size of the photo. If you measure the photo and it is 8 inches by 6 inches it will be usable. Many times we receive photos that are 1 x 2 and they are too small for the print edition.

Remember when posting photos, please identify all the people in the shot with first and last names. YourHub.com loves printing photos of people but we want to know who you are!

Last, but not least, although we do our best to get all the postings in the print edition we are unable to print everything. Space is limited from week to week and this is why following the deadline of 2 weeks prior is important. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a particular story will go to the print edition but if you post it on the site you are getting exposure for your event or story.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to drop me an e-mail at dbatteiger@yourhub.com and don't forget to have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa and a Happy New Year!
