My Special Dad

My dad, James Box came to Florida from Georgia as a child. He found work here in Fellsmere at what is now Sun Ag.He never worked any place else.He is a self tought mechanic and worked at Fellsmere Farms for 52 years, missing only one week of work out of all those years. Dad worked 16 and 17 hours a day when we were kids. He never complained and never seemed sick. As years went by, dad didn't have to work weekends but he always had someone to bring a car to the house for him to work on. All my life i have always heard people here in town say he was the best mechanic in the county. Everyone brought their cars and trucks to dad.He has always been a great role model for my brother and I. He tought us right from wrong, manners, respect and always showed us his love. Dad lost mom in 2003 after 54 years of marriage. They were the perfect couple.
As a child dad picked cotten and had to work full time sence he was in the second grade. Dad has retired now and still lives here in Fellsmere. He has had to give up his machanic work but he is now able to fish a little and enjoy life. I tahnk him so much for all he tought me growing up. I love him very much.
