On Friday Evening, June 27, 2008, the Sebastian Rotary Club held their annual installation dinner at Marsh Landing Restaurant, in Fellsmere. Past President Joe Falzone administered the oath of office President Joel Tyson; Vice President Chris Pinson; Treasurer Kristie Woodward; and Secretary Christy Masters.
A week prior to the installation of officers, President-Elect Tyson hosted a cookout and brainstorming session at his home in Fellsmere for the purpose of planning all of the club's activities for the upcoming year. In addition to its ongoing support of the Interact Club (or Junior Rotarians) at Sebastian River High School, the Board agreed to sell programs at all Sharks home football game, sponsor the annual Jack Berklew Memorial Golf Tournament at the Sebastian Municipal Golf Course in November, and holdour 3rd Annual Home and Garden Show in late March 2009, at Riverview Park. Proceeds from these events go to providing scholarships for graduating students at Sebastian River High School. In May of this year we were able to award $500 scholarships to five outstandingSRHS graduates.
