LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers will host their 46th Adult Baseball Camp from Feb. 5-11 at the Dodgers’ Spring Training facility in Vero Beach, FL. For this spring’s edition of the twice-yearly camp, 113 participants will be on hand to receive instruction from several Dodger stars of the past, as well as some current minor league personnel.
This camp’s list of instructors will include Hall of Fame outfielder Duke Snider and his former Brooklyn teammates Ralph Branca, Carl Erskine and Clem Labine. Tommy John, Tommy Davis, Burt Hooton, Rick Monday, Reggie Smith, Jeff Torborg, Dave Wallace and Steve Yeager will also be present.
Members of the Dodger minor league staff who will serve as instructors are Garey Ingram (Single-A Columbus coach), Dann Bilardello (a former manager in the Dodger farm system), Marty Reed (Minor League Pitching Coordinator), Juan Bustabad (Rookie-level Gulf Coast manager), John Shoemaker (Double-A Jacksonville manager), Jon Debus (Minor League Catching Coordinator), Travis Barbary (Single-A Columbus manager and former Dodger bullpen catcher) and Ramon Ortiz (Single-A Vero Beach coach).
“It’s always exciting when Spring Training approaches, which I think is what makes the first camp so special. It marks the start of a new year and a new season,” said Craig Callan, Dodger Vice President, Spring Training and Minor League Facilities. “We have some great former players participating this session and we’re looking forward to all of our campers having a great time at Dodgertown.”
Walt Benston from San Jose, CA is making his 36th appearance at a Dodger camp.
Campers will use the same training fields, batting cages and locker rooms as the current Dodgers and those aspiring to one day become Dodgers. Daily activities include drills, batting practice and baseball games. There are also nightly dinners with awards presented to the top performers of the day.
The 2006 Los Angeles Dodgers’ Adult Baseball Camp in the Fall is slated for Nov. 5-11. For more information, call 1-800-344-PLAY or visit the official Dodgers Adult Camp website at
