Fort Pierce - What a great place to be during October.
SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR OCTOBER COOL STARS:
Thank you
Sue Dannahower for orchestrating another fabulous sale of Anita Prentice, Ginny Piech Street and Colleen Nash Becht works in her home. I look forward to purchasing great Christmas presents there each year. Unfortunately, my purchases found their way onto my walls, so it's off to shop I go --- Downtown Fort Pierce. You do know FP is the best place to shop. Great shops with smiling shop owners, great prices and one-of-a-kind presents, delicious places to eat and rest, and art galore along the beautiful Indian River. Don't try finding that at wally-mally-world. It's not there!
Thank you, Vero Beach Museum of the Arts' artist/teacher,
Vickie Marsango for coming to Fort Pierce and giving an all-day Abstract Art course at the Treasure Coast Art Association (TCAA). The tired but very happy artists completed 2 to 5 paintings during your classes. We look forward to seeing more classes conducted by Vickie Marsango in the new future as she joined TCAA. Vickie can be reached at
Pizazzoart@yahoo.com. Check out her artwork at

Thank you
Kassy Willis for being the model at the Live Figure Drawing Class for the Sunrise Studio group in October. One artist,
Margot Braswell did a beautiful portrait in pastels. The portrait changed every sitting as she applied layer after layer of color.
Leslie Stokes continues to create painting after painting as she gets ready for her show at Lafferanda Gallery in early 2009, and I want to be first in line. Why to see what's she's done.
Thank you
A.E. Backus Museum and Gallery for putting on another stupendous 4-County Art Show. With over 250 submissions and only so much space to display, it is clear that you need to expand. Let us know how we can help.
Thank you
Fort Pierce Main Street for the scary ghost walk. Over 400+ people signed up to met our famous ghosts that night. Every ghost was superb. I particularly enjoyed A. E. Backus and Alfred Hair. It's nice to know that as artists we can come back to life one night a year and boost.
Thank you
Treasure Coast Art Association artists for the wonderful new works now on display. The quality of work is fabulous. There are new teachers joining every month. Open studio is $4 for members and open just about every weekday and there are numerous classes offered. They also have an art show with awards every month. Check it out. (
