This blog is about the many people, places, things and events of the Comic, Gaming and Collectable community. “Capt.” Joel Kilmer is a native and life long resident of Saint Lucie County. With a love of comics, magic, herpetology (reptiles) and horticulture (bromeliads) “Capt” Joel is always doing something in the community. Big Dog Comics is the largest comic, gaming and collectable shop on the Treasure Coast and has been serving the community for over 23 years. We are active in supporting positive youth activities and community charities.

After a long day of fun and play, 2 ½ year old Andy Freeman still had energy coursing through his system. After reaching Big Dog Comics with his mommy he started a brutal assault on the equal sized Shrek doll that guards the shop.
Body slams, eye gouges, headlocks, and punches were exchanged with squeals of glee and laughter. As quickly as it started fatigue or possibly narcolepsy over took the challenger as he delivered his last vicious slam to the floor on Shrek.
Shrek's shoulders were counted 1...2...3... for the pin. It was immediately noticed neither combatant arose. Andy slept well for almost an hour, knowing he had bested the happy ogre.
