Heathcote Bonsai Secrets at Farmers Market

What:	NEXT › ‹ PREVIOUS The secret to Bonsai will be demonstrated by volunteers from Heathcote Botanical Gardens on Saturday, November 7, at the Downtown Farmers' Market of Fort Pierce, Inc. Bonsai Master, Jim Smith, has pledged to donate his extensive Bonsai collection to Heathcote in the future. Smith helped found the Treasure Coast Bonsai Society, and has won multiple awards with his Bonsai artistry. Smith's donation is contingent upon Heathcote providing a secure place to display and maintain the trees. Several of his trees are already part of Heathcote's permanent collection in the Japanese Garden. Heathcote Botanical Gardens is located at 210 Savannah Road, in Fort Pierce; telephone 772-464-4672; www.heathcotebotanicalgardens.org. The Downtown Farmers' Market of Fort Pierce is open every Saturday from 8 AM to 12 Noon, at the waterfront between the library and the marina in Marina Square in Downtown Fort Pierce. Hear live music, eat breakfast or lunch along the seawall or at picnic tables, and shop for fresh fruits and vegetables, plants, orchids, baked goods, sauces and much more.
