9/11 Revisited a poem about the World Trade Center
Contributed by: Frank DeSena on 8/7/2007

9/11 Revisited

Balloons released to touch a soul,
Flags waved to sweeten death,
Mournful,mechanical marches
Bagpipes,flutes,taps,
Names choked out,
Tears moving slowly down faces fixed in stone,
(Having witnessed the unthinkable),
Tears falling to the bloodied ground,
As collapsing buildings do,
As flaming flying bodies do,
As we shall all one day go down
Into the sweet recesses of the earth
There to mingle with our brothers and sisters
To rise again, free and finally at peace.

Powerful images that call to mind the horror of that day that changed the world.
