St. Lucie County Education Foundation Receives Contribution from Staples Foundation

Staples, Inc. of St. Lucie West chose to honor the St. Lucie County Education Foundation at its grand opening June 30th. Mayor Patricia Christensen, Chamber executive director Linda Cox, and members of the St. Lucie County Education Foundation applauded the "shredding" of the new store ribbon. General Manager, Carey Schaefer presented a $1,500 check to the Education Foundation to support education through classroom grants and students scholarships.

Rudy Howard, president of the Education Foundation, and Mary Holmgren, executive director, accepted the gift along with board members Aileen Pruitt, Dr. Judi Miller, Pam Houghten, Bernadette Floyd, and Elizabeth Mallonee.

The St. Lucie County Education Foundation salutes Staples for demonstrating that schools are a major priority in our community.
