Scholarships awarded
Contributed by: Charles Hopper on 8/30/2008

The Sheri Lynn Hopper Scholarship was established in 1984. Sheri was a junior at John Carroll and was killed in an automobile accident while on her way to school on March 16, 1984. The family decided to establish a scholarship fund in her memory. The amount of funds sent in demonstrated the love of the whole community of St. Lucie County. The moneys collected from the community at large were invested and to date over 57 scholarships have been awarded.

Her classmates at John Carroll responded with their own donation that was used to purchase the Statue of Mary in the hall by the chapel. Her family thought that this would be a good idea so the students could see where their donation went.

Sheri was a bright student, loved St. Anastasia and John Carroll. She graduated from St. Anastasia in 1981. This year we are awarding three scholarships of $500.00 each.

The recipients are : John Carroll Student : James Maynard

St. Anastasia Students : Dana Ageeb and Elizabeth Guettler
