Congratulations to John Carroll High School's Senior Class

Congratulations to the 111 JCHS Seniors who will be graduated on May 16 th. The talented Class of 2007 was been blessed with the honor of utilizing the Sunrise Theatre in downtown Fort Pierce to hold its ceremony. Thank you to director David Jenkins and the delightful staff of the theatre for letting the school use the facility.

John Carroll High School is proud of the graduates and wishes them good luck as they venture on to college, new jobs, and the armed services. Over 50% of the class will receive a Bright Futures scholarship. The class includes a National Merit finalist (Tierney Sneed), a Wendy's Heisman Regional Semi-Finalist (Susie Irizarry), six Young Floridian winners (Natalie Angelos, Jillian DaSilva, JJ Johnstone, Santi Reyes, Matt Guettler, and Jon Errico), and two State Champion Envirothon team members (Amber Enns and Susie Irizzary.) The students have logged in excess of 8,880 service hours in the community over their four years, have helped build a John Carroll High School Habitat for Humanity home, raised thousands of dollars for relief efforts, and served as stewards in their churches.

The seniors will be attending colleges and universities from around the nation, including Furman, Clemson, University of Notre Dame, Fordham University, LSU, Wingate, Georgia Tech, Seton Hall, Coppin State University, University of Rhode Island, Lee University, Syracuse University, Ole Miss, Davis and Elkins, Boston Conservatory, Brevard College in North Carolina, Roger Williams, John Carroll University, and more. Several students will be staying in Florida and attending University of Miami, University of Florida, Florida State University, Palm Beach Atlantic, Barry University, University of Central Florida, Florida Southern, Full Sail University, University of South Florida, Northwood, Florida Institute of Technology, and Indian River Community College. We also wish our students who will be serving in the fire department, Coast Guard, and Navy our best!

A large percentage of the students will be starting college with credits that they received through the numerous Dual Enrollment and Advanced Placement classes that are offered on John Carroll's campus and at Indian River Community College.

John Carroll High School would like to recognize the 2007 Valedictorian Susan Irizarry, and Salutatorian Lindsey McAlarnen. These ladies are exceptional students, humanitarians, and will surely make a difference in world. Congratulations also to the following students who comprise of the 10 ten percent of their class: Tierney Sneed, Amy Dohrer, Lauren Haag, Jillian DaSilva, Matthew Guettler, Jack Fitzgerald, Victoria Palmeri, Pat McGrath, Kristen Collura, Gabby Kiger, and Robbie Morgan.
