FIND OUT HOW TO REV UP YOUR FUTURE WITH IRSC'S AUTOMOTIVE PROGRAM
Get ready to jumpstart your career options in one of the fastest growing career fields on the Treasure Coast. Anyone interested in Indian River State College's Automotive degree program or a career as an automotive technician or manager is invited to a free Information Session on Thursday, July 24, at 6:30 p.m. at the IRSC Main Campus, 3209 Virginia Avenue, Room B-120, in Fort Pierce to find out more about this in-demand career field.
Students can choose the Automotive Service Management degree program offered at the Main Campus beginning with the Fall Semester or can begin the Automotive Technology certificate program at any time. Upon completion, graduates are ready for employment in a variety of positions in dealerships, independent repair shops, or fleet maintenance facilities.
IRSC offers automotive training that builds increasingly sophisticated skills in all aspects of automotive repair, maintenance and service. Students can complete courses in transmissions, steering and suspension, braking, engine overhaul and more. IRSC programs are certified in all eight categories by the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), and students gain valuable skills for ASE certification.
In addition to the Fort Pierce program, the Automotive Technology program also meets in the Auto Lab at Martin County High School, and students can take advantage of flexible scheduling. "IRSC offers top-quality education at reasonable cost with small classes and personal attention," says Donna Rivett, IRSC Assistant Dean of Industrial Education. "There are many opportunities for financial aid to help people get the training they need to launch a new career, and we encourage people to find out more at this Information Session."
