As a part of our social studies unit this week at Garden City Early Learning Academy, the students in Ms. Carpenter's second grade class honored American soldiers who fight for our country everyday and for heroes we have lost. The students wrote letters and illustrations to the American soldiers to show their appreciation for all they do. The letters will be sent to Operation Gratitude in California, an organization that sends letters and care packages to our troops. This was a real-life learning experience for our boys and girls to reach out and touch an American soldier.
