from four counties competed last Saturdayat the Indian River Community College's Kight Center to see who would progress to the State MATHCOUNTS Competition in Orlando on March 29 and 30. The top individual was
Colby Roycefrom
Lake Placid Christian School, followed by Bo Lanfrom Hidden Oaks Middle School (Palm City),Cimone Watson from Lincoln Park Academy (Ft. Pierce), and Ryan Blount from Lake Placid Christian School. Coach Dennis Griffin from Lake Placid Christian School was selected as Coach of the Year for his many years of dedication to the MATHCOUNTS program.
Joining the top four individual competitors at the state competition will bethe winning team
from Lincoln Park Academy in Ft. Pierce
(Ariana Mora, Cimone Watson, Ethan Klein, and Jarrett Elrod under the direction of Coach Dennis Kasprzyk) and the second place team from Hidden Oaks Middle School (Bo Lan, Cody Morris, Jennifer Goldberg, and Billy McMahon under the direction of Coach Brenda Weissing).
