For the second year in a row members of the Indian River Community College Math Team earned first-place honors at the statewide Math Olympics held at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville. In addition to the first-place team win, IRCC student Cameron Berry took second place in the individual competition. The Math Team also won first place in the Southeast Region on the National AMATYC Exam. All Florida community colleges were eligible to compete.

The IRCC Math Team #1 members are Cameron Berry of Port St. Lucie, a Math major; Gerardo Caicedo of Port St. Lucie, an Electrical Engineering major; Ed Gillett of Port St. Lucie, a Math & Engineering major; and Leah Miller of Port St. Lucie, a Pre-Med Zoology major.

The IRCC Math Team #2 members are Andre Norman, Joseph Rios, Jheanell Thabana, and Miche Isaac.

IRCC offers Associate in Arts degrees in Mathematics and many other fields, which prepare students for transfer to universities. IRCC also offers Associate in Science and Applied Science technical degrees in Florida's top 40 fastest growing careers, as well as certificate and short-term training programs. IRCC will offer several Bachelor's Degree programs beginning January, 2008.
