GIFTED 7TH GRADERS HONORED AT FAU
Contributed by: Kristine Meyers on 5/24/2007

This winter, about 75,000 academically talented 7 th graders took either the SAT Achievement Test or the ACT Assessment through the Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP). They sat for the exams in their hometowns alongside the usual group of college-bound 11 th and 12 th graders, and many earned scores that rival or surpass those earned by the older kids in the next seats.

Those students with a minimum score of 21 in at least one test area are invited to a State Recognition Ceremony. In Florida, 2,762 students out of the 10,257 who applied qualified for the State Recognition Ceremony. Locally, Kathryn Carnell, Deven Grey, Luke King, and Kreig Meyers (pictured from left to right) were among those honored at the State Recognition Ceremony held atFlorida Atlantic University on 5/23/07.
