Indian River Community College Graphic Design Technology students recently took home top awards in advertising art and design in the AdFed Treasure Coast 2008 Addy Awards contest at the Willoughby Country Club in Stuart, earning three first place and four second place awards.
Gold Awards
The Gold Award for a Collateral Material was earned for a Sunrise Theatre brochure and was presented to Walt Hines, IRCC Professor; Patrick Rice, Art Director; and IRCC students Susan Castro of Port St. Lucie; Stephanie Landis of Port St. Lucie; Josh Lenz of Port St. Lucie; Sandra Lutz of St. Petersburg; Matthew Nicoll of Port St. Lucie; Heather Spear of Fort Pierce; Brian Strickland of Okeechobee; Amy Threlkeld of Vero Beach; Georgina Toucher of Stuart; and Reuben Victor of Fort Pierce. A first -place ward for excellence in Typographic Design was presented to Georgina Tougher of Stuart. Mike Bechtel of Port St. Lucie took home a gold award for his poster of the Wolf Trap Music Festival.
Silver Awards
Art work created by IRCC student Vicky Tobiaz of Stuart for the 11 Maple Street Restaurant earned a Silver Award. Other Silver Awards winners were: Anthony Christofari Suzie Fiske for Fort Pierce Blues & Jazz Festival, and Mike Lopresti for artwork for the Wolf Trap Music Festival.
