Members of the Indian River State College Chapter of Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) recently returned from the HOSA National Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas, with three first-place awards. Over 6,200 HOSA members participated in this national event. HOSA is a national vocational organization that promotes career opportunities in the health care field.
First-place winners are Jennifer Eastwood, of St. Lucie County, in Physical Therapy; Jennifer Wysock, of Martin County, in Sports Medicine; and Robert Hall, of St. Lucie County, in Dental Spelling. Second-place winners are Lenny Casiano, of Indian River County, in Physical Therapy; Stephanie Almeida, of St. Lucie County, in Sports Medicine; and Kristonn Colborn, of St. Lucie County, in Veterinary Assisting. Fourth-place winner is Elia Lexine, of St. Lucie County, in Physical Therapy. Sixth-place winners in Creative Problem Solving Team event are Christine Carraway, of St. Lucie County; Desiree Needle, of St. Lucie County; Bonny Riddlehoover, of Indian River County; and Sara Schuman, of Brevard County.
