Lucas Martinez has been chosen Student of The Month for June 2009 at the Huntington Learning Center. Lucas was enrolled at Huntington February 12 th, 2009. He attends Lakewood Park Elementary and is currently in 2 nd grade. Lucas came to us with the expectation of improving his reading skills, math word problem skills, developing his confidence, and interest to learn.

Lucas is a clever negotiator when it comes to his instructional program and "how can I work towards getting Student of the Month?" He always arrives earlier then his scheduled session at the center with eagerness to get started. He is a delightful, well mannered, young boy.

Lucas' favorite sport is swimming, and in basketball his best team is Orlando Magic. Lucas would like to be a NASCAR Driver like #14 Tony Stewart when he grows up. His favorite pet would be a dog, but he has a cat named "Mittens." Lucas wants to let us know, "Huntington has helped me with my math and reading. I can tell it is helping me in school because I'm getting better grades."

We are so proud of Lucas! His self esteem has sky rocketed upon receiving the extra help at Huntington Learning Center. The ladies at Huntington are magnificent. Anyone who spends two seconds speaking to them can see that they genuinely care about children's education and how it affects their future. Thanks to Huntington Learning Center, Lucas doesn't back down from an academic challenge. He loves to build things, and loves to see what makes machines function. We are so proud of him!
