"Fat Cat the Master Copycat" has taken the People's Choice Award at the fifth annual "Women of St. Lucie County" show at the Lafferandre Gallery. The voting was close with five pieces within two votes of each other but "Fat Cat the Master Copycat" by Maureen Clare Peterman won out. Perhaps it was the sense of whimsy that sparkled throughout the painting, or maybe the Backus copy theme that touched a cord in the viewing public.

If you have not been by, you still have until the 27 to view the show- this year 29 artists entered. While it includes both amateur and professional artists, it is designed to encourage amateur artists to come out and exhibit. The show is an opportunity for people to see some of the great talent we have locally that they would not normally get a chance to view. All pieces exhibited are for sale and a portion of the sales goes to Big Brothers Big Sisters of St. Lucie County.
