FORT PIERCE - The Fort Pierce Branch Library will host treasure hunter Capt. Robert Bouchlas on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 1:30 p.m. Capt. Bouchlas, the custodian of the story of the life-sized Madonna and Christ-Child Statue, will discuss the statue and why it is the "Greatest Underwater Treasure of All-Time."
It is a story he has been telling since 1975, when he first discovered the
Nuestra Señora de las Maravillas, a Spanish Galleon that sunk in 1656. The story of the "Maravillas" is the legacy of Capt. Bouchlas, chief executive officer of St. Michael Academy in West Palm Beach and the custodian/discoverer of this unique treasure.
The presentation at the Fort Pierce Branch Library is free and registration is not required.
