FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY HOST ANNUAL DINNER OCT. 19

FORT PIERCE - The Friends of the St. Lucie County Library Association, Inc., will hold its annual dinner/meeting on Monday, Oct. 19 at the Port St. Lucie Holiday Inn starting at 5:30 p.m.

The authors for the evening will be the husband-wife team of Deborah and Joel Shlian, award-winning Medical Mystery Writers, whose latest book "Rabbit in the Moon" won the gold medal for the Florida Book Awards. Admission to the dinner and lecture is $40 per person.

The Shlians practiced medicine together for years before trying their hand at fiction. Their first novel, "Double Illusion," won rave reviews from the LA Times and was optioned for film. Their second book, "Wednesday's Child," was compared to Mary Higgins Clark and was nominated for an Edgar Award. Their latest novel, "Rabbit in the Moon," is available in hardback and has won numerous awards including the gold medal for Genre Fiction, Florida Book Award and Silver Medal for Mystery Book of the Year from ForeWord Magazine.

The Friends of the Library annual dinner/meeting will be held at the Port St. Lucie Holiday Inn, 10120 South U.S. 1 with cocktails from 5:30-6:30 p.m. (cash bar) and dinner at 6:45 p.m. Dinner is $40 with a reservation deadline of Monday, Oct. 12. The Shlian's books will be available for purchase and autographing at the dinner.
