Bird loving club members of the Treasure Coast Exotic Bird Club flock together to prepare for the 12 th Annual Exotic Bird Expo. Although previously held at the St. Lucie County Civic Center, this year's Expo will be held at the Okeechobee Agri-Civic Center. An array of beautiful birds from finches to macaws will be present as well as cages, seed, toys and accessories. This year's Expo has also been opened to exotic plant & reptile vendors to add to the excitement.
The club's focus has always been to educate the public on the proper care of exotic birds. Avian & Exotic Specialty Veterinarians will be present with educational displays as well as important health & nutritional materials that will be provided at the club table.
In April 2002 the Treasure Coast Exotic Bird Club achieved its goal in establishing an endowed scholarship at the University of Florida for students interested in Avian Medicine. The proceeds from this year's Expo is hoped to continue a scholarship for Ft. Pierce Westwood High School students in the Vet Tech program.
