Celebration Held At Ft Pierce Jai-Alai & Poker
Contributed by: Sally Dillon on 8/21/2008

The grand opening of the Crystal Card Room at Fort Pierce Jai-Alai was held August 9th. Business and community leaders joined executives and friends of Florida Gaming to celebrate the new card room's unparalleled success. In April of 2008, the fronton underwent a multimillion dollar renovation and added a poker room to its operation, which now generates new direct revenue to both the City of Fort Pierce and St. Lucie County.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Bennett Collette cut a ribbon of currency, which was donated to the North Treasure Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross. " We are pleased to make our celebration even more meaningful by supporting this organization that does so much for our community in times of need," commented Mr. Collette.

Guests at the event were treated to a lavish buffet, cocktails and gifts. Guests also had the opportunity to see the card room in full swing. Since its opening, The Crystal Card Room at Fort Pierce Jai-Alai has added over 100 new jobs to the area.

Fort Pierce Jai-Alai has been a Treasure Coast entertainment destination for over 34 years. The magnificent card room is widely considered to be the nicest card room in Florida. The Crystal Card Room offers daily tournaments, no limit Texas Hold 'Em, 7 Card Stud and Omaha Hi-Low. Additionally, players enjoy the excitement of a "bad beat" jackpot that has reached over $100,000. A "bad beat" is the 2nd place hand in a game that achieves specific criteria; the concept adds unpredictability, adventure and the oportunity for a life-altering payout to every hand in qualifying games.

Apart from 37 tables of daily poker action, Ft. Pierce Jai-Alai offers full-card-simulcast, Off Track Betting on Thoroughbreds, Greyhounds, Harness Racing and the very best Jai-Alai from Miami. Surrounded by 40 large-screen plasma TVs, they carry all major sporting events in addition to the daily simulcast races.
Every year, Fort Pierce Jai-Alai and Poker presents a live Jai-Alai season. Jai-Alai is a fast paced sport with roots rich in the history of Florida. Jai-Alai was the first pari-mutuel game to come to Miami. Miami Jai-Alai is co-owned with Fort Pierce Jai-Alai and Poker, making many of the top players in the sport available for play in Fort Pierce. Admission is always free, even during the live Jai-Alai season.

The Poker room offers full bar service and light snacks as a convenience to their patrons and is open Noon to Midnight Sunday through Thursday and 1PM to 1AM on Fridays and Saturdays.
