Getting the Sunday Blues.
Contributed by: Laura Lucas on 7/22/2008

The Tribune and the Fort Pierce Jazz & Blues Society brought another fantastic "Waterside Blues Concert" to the Fort Pierce City Marina on Sunday, July 20th. Kicking off the concert, Malcolm Alexander, impressed the crowd with his saxophone. Malcolm is one of the many scholarship recipients that benefit from the Waterside Blues Concert's proceeds. The free concert featured nimble-fingered guitarist Famous Frank Ward and the Nucklebusters Blues Band and the pre-WWII blues sound of Blues Dragon. From 1-5pm the community enjoyed an afternoon of Blues Music, southern barbeque, and an expo of fine handcrafted jewelry in historic downtown Fort Pierce. These Waterside Blues Concerts are brought to you by the Fort Pierce Tribune, the Fort Pierce Jazz & Blues Society, Budweiser, WSTU/WPSL, and National City Bank. All proceeds from the event benefit the Ft. Pierce Jazz & Blues Society's Scholarship fund for local talented youth. The concert series will continue with additional concert's in 2008 on October 19, 2008 and December 21, 2008. Mark your calendars and make sure you come out for some of the best Blues in Florida.
