BALLROOM DANCE VENUE ARRIVES IN FORT PIERCE
Contributed by: Mary Jane Keriakos on 9/26/2008

At last a ballroom dance venue has come to Fort Pierce. At The Inn in Ocean Village, 2400 S. Ocean Drive, afficionados have been dancing to rhumba, cha- cha, merengue, salsa, tango, paso doble, foxtrot, waltz, hustle, and swing. Restaurateurs Bob and Jan Truedel have graciously welcomed the ballroom dancers to their oceanfront restaurant which boasts a wood dance floor. Ocean Village residents, their guests, and Treasure Coast residents have enjoyed this dance venue since June of this year. After a brief recess, dancing will resume Wednesday November 5 and every Wednesday thereafter (there is no charge).

The DJ is national dance champion Robert Scott, well-known in Vero Beach since 1987 and master of the Indian River Dance Studio who began his teaching career in Chicago, Illinois (Scott also teaches middle school students at St. Anastasia). Scott will teach a one-hour group dance lesson at the Ocean Village Clubhouse from 6-7:00 p.m each Wednesday followed by the dancing. Everyone is welcome to dance at The Inn; to participate in the lessons (all ages) beginning November 5, call Mary Jane Keriakos, 772-489-9230, for an invitation as space is limited. The weekly cost is $10 per person.
