The Boys & Girls Club of St. Lucie County's Infinity Teen Center has been working on a very important play for the local community that focuses on HIV/AIDS and its effects on teens. "Keep it on the Hush", which will make its debut on August 2 nd at the Sunrise Theatre is written, directed, and acted out by Boys & Girls Club Teen Members and Program Directors.
Teens from the Infinity Teen Center have been working tirelessly to improve their play lines every Tuesday and Thursday at the Boys & Girls Club and are ecstatic to perform at the Sunrise Theatre. Marketa LaPointe, one of the cast members said, "I'm at a complete loss for words at the very thought of having the play at such an extravagant place like the Sunrise Theatre. To be able to showcase the play there is truly amazing, and a dream, NO a vision, come true."
The play that Program Director, Jarvis Gilliam wrote and that Program Directors Megan Reeves and London Reeves help direct is a story of how HIV/AIDS has its effects on a group of teenage friends. London calls the play, "An educational and entertaining piece." The entire cast is local club members that have taken a special interest in this project and wish to share it with teens of St. Lucie County.
The play is sponsored by the Sunrise Theatre who will be hosting "Keep it on the Hush", Saturday, August 2 nd at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at $12 for Adults and $5 for Students and can be purchased at the Sunrise Theatre or any local Boys & Girls Club of St. Lucie County.
