FP LIBRARY ANNOUNCES OCTOBER WEDNESDAY MATINEES

FORT PIERCE - The Fort Pierce Branch Library announces its "Wednesday Matinee" lineup for October. Held every Wednesday, the library will present a free film, starting at 2 p.m.

· Oct. 1 - "House on Haunted Hill" (1959) featuring Vince Price. Five people are invited to a haunted house party and offered $10,000 each by an eccentric millionaire and his wife to spend the night in a house with a murderous past.

· Oct. 8 - "Trog" (1970) featuring Joan Crawford. An anthropologist unearths a troglodyte (Ice Age, half-man, half-ape) and managed to domesticate him, until he is let loose with terrifying results.

· Oct. 15 - "Young Frankenstein" (1974) featuring Gene Wilder and Madeline Kahn. A young neurosurgeon inherits the castle of his grandfather Dr. Victor Von Frankenstein in this comedy by Mel Brooks.

· Oct. 22 - "Topper" (1937) featuring Cary Grant and Roland Young. The fun loving Kirbys, stockholders in a bank, drive recklessly once too often and become ghosts. Now in a limbo of neither good, nor bad deeds, they decide to try one good deed: Rehabilitate Topper, the president of the bank.

· Oct. 29 - "Hush....Hush, Sweet Charlotte" (1964) featuring Betty Davis. Charlotte Hollis is an aging recluse deluded into a state of dementia by horrible memories and hallucinations. Her cousin tried to have her committed. Will she overcome the threshold of insanity?
