Everything was green at the March meeting of the Garden Club of Ft. Pierce. The Glidden Park Center was decorated with beautiful Irish themed colors, fitting the closeness to St. Patrick's Day. Surely the Leprechauns must have been smiling among the Bromeliads provided by guest speakers Ron McGee and Mary Rogers. The presentation featured excellent slides, a beautiful array of plants, and lots of great ideas for landscaping.
The good luck of the Irish continued as guests were introduced. Visiting from Ocala, former member of Palm Vista Garden Circle and past President of the Federation, Bunnye Brinson was welcomed. She was accompanied by daughter Dee Collier. Our own talented Millie West played a piano medley in tribute to our visitors.
The meeting continued with reports on club projects: butterfly garden, commemorative sign, scholarship plans, and a Fun with Flowers Workshop.
Finally, hostesses Marlene Langston, Jane Fleming, Rose Young, Carla Banat were thanked for a super "Wearing of the Green".
Look out Leprechauns, even more fun next meeting. Please consider joining us on April 9th at 11:00 a.m. at the Glidden Park Center, 911 Parkway Drive, Ft. Pierce. Master Gardener John Ray will prepare us for summer with "Storm Savvy Gardening". Kindly call the number below to reserve a seat.
