Over the past year Stuart Main Street has worked closely with a local organization called Stuart in Bloom. With incredible support from the City of Stuart and a group of dedicated volunteers they have worked to tirelessly to make the city a more beautiful place to live, work and play. Because their concerns for the community are similar, Stuart Main Street decided to support the Stuart in bloom initiative by donating $500. In recognition of this donation, Stuart In Bloom placed a beautiful sign in one of the gateways to downtown Stuart - the corner of Joan Jefferson Way and US 1.

Stuart in Bloom is a 'branch' of the nationwide organization America in Bloom. Since 2001 America in Bloom has encouraged and helped over 150 communities, like Stuart, improve the quality of life for residents and quality of experience for visitors to those communities.

The goal of Stuart in Bloom is twofold. First, to win the national competition that America in Bloom hosts each year. Judges will be arriving in Stuart April 26 th - 29th and will judge the community of Stuart in eight different categories: floral displays, landscapes, urban forestry, turf and groundcover areas, heritage conservation, environmental awareness, tidiness and community involvement. And second winning the competition has great rewards and benefits community wide: improved quality of life, increased civic pride, increased economic development, increased tourism, environmental awareness, preservation, increased property values and much more.
