Merry Christmas from American Legion Post 171
Contributed by: henry clayton on 12/20/2008

Members of Charles O. Hines gathered at American Legion Post 171 to bring in the Christmas holiday. Commander Nathaniel Jenkins and President of the Auxiliary Dorothy Bass gave their Christmas message and wished the best for every one and Rev. Tommy Effend did a special for the Nation and those serving in the Military. This is a small part of the things that the American Legion do. So for this week they have passed out gifts of food and toys as well as funds for the needy. They will also on Saturday Dec. 20 serve meals and give gifts to the elderly and needy. Sense we all are going to over eat during the holiday, the post will have a dance on Dec. 26,2008 to help burn off the extra pounds we gained. The members at American Legion Post 171 send their prayers and wish every one enjoy the holiday and look forward to having a great New Year..
