A Victorian Tea was held on Saturday, February 03, 2007 at Spanish Lakes Riverfront Clubhouse in Port Saint Lucie. The event was sponsored by the Treasure Coast Queens Council and was attended by 190 local Red Hat members.
Jo Ann Camino catered this event, and did a fantastic job. The menu consisted of assorted tea sandwiches (open face & closed), fruit breads, scones (with jam and cream), shortbread, tarts, assorted mini cakes, tea cookies and petit fours
For entertainment, there was a Rediculous Fashion Show. The models for the Fashion Show were members of the Treasure Coast Queen's Council and their Vice Queens. They are: Donna Black, Terry Pelletier, Shirley Doney, Eileen Barrett, Kathy Rocker, Victoria Bachman, Shirley Dias, Linda Hagedorn, and Stevie Savage.
The Fashion show was a huge hit. The models included the Common Tater, Philamena Printstone, LuLuBelle Lightfarmer, Polly of Paradise, the Jungle Queen, Lady Tru-Brew, Cottonesa Ballarena, Pretty Penny Party, Golfing GertieAnn, and Baroness Von Hooters. As their finale, the group played "Ain't We Sweet" on their Kazoos.
After the fashion show, door prizes were given out. Each attending chapter donated a door prize.
Next was the Lampshade Hat Contest. We never dreamed so many of the Red Hatters were going to decorate lampshades and enter the contest. There were only two prizes - Most Outlandish, and Most Elegant. The Most Outlandish prize went to Lucille Petruzelli, Queen of the Crimson Busy Bonnets. The Most Elegant prize went to Barbara West, Vice Queen of the Crimson Busy Bonnets.
Our Red Hat Split Winners were Ellen Morrone of the Red Hat Tomatoes, Rose Mary Kemler of the Purple Passion of Hutchinson Island and Barbara Kendzior of Les Femmes en Rouge.
There were also four Red Hat Vendors present - Shirley Doney, Cynthia Willis, Ann McCormick and Dee Morton.
A great time was had by all. We are all anxious for the next event.
There will be a Western Hoedown on March 5, 2007 at the PSL Elk's Lodge, and a Red Hat Birthday Bash on April 25 th at the Vero Beach Elk's Lodge..
