Queen Shirley Doney and Friends to the End of Fort Pierce hosted a Maryland Fried Chicken luncheon with a fashion show by Bon Worth at the Spanish Lakes Country Club Village Clubhouse on Saturday, April 19, 2008. There were 170 Red Hatters in attendance. The following chapters attended: Capella Rosa, Classy Lassies of the Fairways, Dazzling Dames in Red, Foxy Red Hatters, Lake Charles Classy Redkettes, Lucie Goosies, Lucky Ladies, Mystic Jewels of the Treasure Coast, Purple Foxes, Purple Passion Ladies, Rebels with Hatatude, Red Bonnet Belles, Red Hat Chicks, Red Hat Honeys, Red Hat Tomatoes, Sassy Lassies, Scarlett Divas, Tall Pine Needles, Red Hats of Spanish Lakes Country Club Village, Treasure Coast Ladies with Hattitude and Treasure Coast Ruby Red Jewels.
Our Mistress of Cermonies was Shirley Doney. She welcomed everyone to the event, and table numbers were drawn for the buffet line. The last table drawn received a prize. The Prize went to The Red Hat Tomatoes. There was Maryland Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes w/Gravy, Cole Slaw and a roll. For Dessert there was an assortment of cakes.
The manager for Bon Worth (Judy) described the outfits as each of the models walked down the runway. The models were Sue Farrell, Linda Hagedorn, Ann Workman, Carol Brake, Thelma Scott, and Betty Horvith - all members of Friends to the End.
There were lots of door prizes given. At the end of the Fashion show, there was a gift certificate to Bon Worths given out also.
Entertainment was provided by Patrick Gordon and Ralph Balzano. Patrick was dressed in what appeared to me to be as a Royal Mounty, and Ralph was dressed in the most gorgeous Pink Southern gown you've ever seen. They lip-sync a couple of love songs. They were hilarious!!!
The Red Hat Split winners were Margo Young, member of Friends to the End of Fort Pierce; Dolly Aloisi, Vice Queen of Purple Passion Ladies; and Kathleen Weaver, member of Rebels with Hatatude. Each received $80.
Great Job Friends to the End!!!
