Staying Cool at the Ft. Pierce Farmers' Market
Contributed by: Linda Hudson on 7/13/2008

Think it's too hot to shop? Think again. The Downtown Farmers' Market of Fort Pierce is one of the coolest places in St. Lucie County. Held every Saturday, from 8 am to 12 Noon, the Farmers' Market is located at the waterfront on the Indian River Lagoon. Floridians know that waterfront venues are always cooler. But, don't just rely on the Indian River to keep you cool.

Visit the Farmers' Market "Cooling Station" located at the north end of the market. Adults, children, babies, pets, patrons and vendors alike, all enjoy the new cooling station, designed especially for the Farmers' Market by Market Manager, Bobbi Spencer and her husband, Ron. The Market offers fruits, vegetables, organics, plants, flowers, orchids, baked goods, natural bath and beauty products, honey, coffee, tea and a variety of food and beverage vendors. Every Saturday, rain or shine, year round. The Market is located east of U.S. # 1 in Downtown Fort Pierce, with plenty of free parking at the new garage (entrances on Orange or Avenue A), or at the Manatee and Community Centers on Indian River Drive. Ride the trolley free! It's a Saturday Morning Tradition.
Contact Bobbi Spencer at 772-940-1145 for more information. For the nearby craft market on Indian River Drive, call 772-460-5299.
