There are three farmers' markets on the Treasure Coast that you should check out! The oldest is
Downtown Fort Pierce Farmers' Market
who will feature Florida blues vocalist
George Durham's
trio as this week's live entertainment this week. It will be quite a treat! The dancing and toe tapping will start around 9 a.m. and continue until 12 noon.
The
Downtown Fort Pierce Farmers' Market
is located on the waterfront of the beautiful Indian River Lagoon between the Main Fort Pierce Library and the Fort Pierce City Marina on Marina Square. Take US1 to either Orange Avenue or Avenue A east about 3 blocks and you are there! There is also the
Ft. Pierce Jazz Society's Arts & Craft Market
across the west side of the street on the grassy area. Vist the farmers' market Saturdays year round from 8am to noon.
The second great market is the newly vitalized
Stuart Green Market
on Sunday mornings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This week will be a great time to visit with live music by
Two Pony Rig
and a huge Craft Fair all along Osceola Blvd. The Stuart Green Market is located in front of City Hall on SW Flagler and is sponsored by Stuart MainStreet.
The third market is the
NEW Vero Farmers' Market
which will open on Friday, October 3rdfrom 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Heritage Center at 14th Avenue and 21st Street. This venture is sponsored by Vero Beach Main Street to benefit the growth and preservation of Downtown Vero.
The Fort Pierce and Stuart markets are open year round and the Vero market will run from October 3rd through May 2009 with ambitions of going year round with enough support and need in the community. Vero has a large retirement base and stay-at-home moms who need fresh produce, plants, seafood, baked goods, etc. for the weekend plus the fun items like enjoying a nice coffee or tea with friends under the lovely old oaks in the park.
