FORT PIERCE - St. Lucie County's Media Relations Division earned five Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) awards from the Treasure Coast Chapter at Tuesday night's annual awards ceremony.

St. Lucie County Public Information Officer Erick Gill won five awards in three categories: Promotional/Marketing Campaign, Printed Tools and Audio/Video Tools. Winning entries included the public relations campaign for St. Lucie County's Environmental Resources Department's weekly nature series, St. Lucie County's 2007 Annual Report and a series of 13 video public service announcements for the Environmental Resources Department's weekly hikes. These entries received one Image Award, two Awards of Distinction and two Judge's Awards, which demonstrate a maximum effect on a minimum budget.

This is the second consecutive year that St. Lucie County's Media Relations staff has won multiple Treasure Coast FPRA awards.

The annual awards ceremony was held Tuesday night at the Schreiber Conference Center at Indian River Community College's St. Lucie West Campus. This year's entries were judged by members of the FPRA Space Coast Chapter.

Chartered in 1984, the Treasure Coast Chapter of the FPRA serves public relations professionals in Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin counties. The Treasure Coast Chapter affords public relations opportunities for professional development through seminars, accreditation and certification, networking, local and state annual competitions, leadership and an annual state conference.
