FORT PIERCE - Local, state and federal officials have opened a Disaster Recovery Center at the St. Lucie County Logistics Center, 3855 South U.S. 1 (site of the old Sam's Club) to help residents recover from Tropical Storm Fay.
The one-stop center will be open daily (Monday - Sunday) from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. until further notice. Officials from a variety of agencies will be on hand to assist with registration for individual assistance, obtaining replacement food stamps, securing a small business loan, offering crisis counseling, finding employment opportunities, obtaining a replacement driver's license or identification card and more.
Local, state and federal agencies at the Disaster Recovery Center including: FEMA, Access Florida, the Florida Department of Children and Families, the Florida Department of Highway and Motor Vehicle Safety, American Red Cross, the Small Business Administration, Council on Aging, St. Lucie County Community Services and the One-Stop Career Center.
