ST. LUCIE COUNTY POSTS DRAFT EAR REPORT ONLINE
Contributed by: Erick Gill, SLC Media Relations on 10/7/2008

The St. Lucie County's Growth Management Department has posted a draft copy of the County's Comprehensive Land Use Plan Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR) for public review prior to the Oct. 21 Board of County Commissioners' public hearing on the report.

The direct link to St. Lucie County's draft EAR is available for public viewing at www.stlucieco.gov/growth. The report will be presented to the St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners in a public hearing on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. (or as soon thereafter as it may be heard).

An addendum is being prepared, with the recommendations from the Planning and Zoning Commission and public comments expressed during the Commission's meeting on Sept. 25. The amendment will be included in the Board of County Commissioner's agenda packets for their meeting of Oct. 21, and available on Growth Management website by Oct. 10.

The public is invited to attend and participate. For those that cannot attend the Oct. 21 meeting, comments can be made directly to Growth Management and they will be included in the record of this process.

The St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners' Comprehensive Plan provides the guiding principles for growth and development within the County, including future land use, parks and recreation, housing, transportation, infrastructure, coastal management, conservation, open space and more. Florida's Growth Management Act mandates that each municipal Comprehensive Plan be reviewed every seven years to determine its effectiveness in accomplishing the vision identified in the principles.
