LAWNWOOD SKATE PARK REOPENS
Contributed by: Erick Gill, SLC Media Relations on 10/16/2009

FORT PIERCE - Lawnwood Skate Park on Virginia Avenue has reopened for public use, after being closed since Monday while St. Lucie County's Parks & Recreation staff removed graffiti that was spray painted inside the park sometime Sunday night.

Anyone with information regarding who might be responsible for the graffiti is asked to call Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at (800) 273-8477.

Skaters are reminded to obtain a skate card from the Parks and Recreation Department to utilize the 15,000-square-foot concrete skate park. Skate cards are available for $10 for St. Lucie County residents and $20 for non-residents annually, and can be obtained at the Havert L. Fenn Center, 2000 Virginia Ave. Lawnwood Skate Park is open seven days a week, during daylight hours for in-line skaters and skateboarders. Helmets are required.

Lawnwood Skate Park is located at 2100 Virginia Ave., Fort Pierce, behind the Fenn Center. For more information call (772) 462-1521 or visit www.stlucieco.gov/parks/skatepark.htm.
