Contributed by: Erick Gill, SLC Media Relations on 10/21/2009

ST. LUCIE COUNTY - St. Lucie County Commission Chair Paula Lewis and Vice Chair Charles Grande will be recognizing the Florida Friendly Landscape improvements made to the entrances and common areas of PGA Village on Monday, Nov. 2 from 10 - 10:30 a.m. at the Clock Tower circle at Reserve Boulevard and Commerce Center Drive, St. Lucie West.

This event offers residents and businesses an opportunity to join the commissioners in recognizing the first community to receive recognition for Florida Friendly Landscaping™ practices.

The Florida Friendly Landscaping™ Program promotes nine principles, such as right plant, right place; water efficiency; mulching and reducing stormwater runoff as part of UF/IFAS Extension Service.

This is a free public event. The UF/IFAS St. Lucie County Extension Office is located at 8400 Picos Road, Fort Pierce. No RSVP is required. Parking is available at the Hilton Garden Inn (south of the circle). Refreshments will follow at the Island Club.
