FNGLA Hosts 4th Annual Golf Tournament

The Treasure Coast chapter of the Florida Nursery, Growers & Landscape Association (FNGLA) held its fourth annual golf tournament on August 16th at the Florida Club in Stuart.

FNGLA is a member-driven association that works to better Florida's green industry, raising the bar on professionalism by spearheading marketing programs, providing promotional and educational venues for members, taking a leadership role in protecting and promoting our members' business interests, communicating the latest industry issues and providing professional accreditation to interested individuals. The Treasure Coast chapter of FNGLA represents the member nurseries, landscape professionals, and allied suppliers in Indian River, St. Lucie,Martin and Okeechobee counties.

Thirty sixgolfers participated in the tournament, and the team from Helena Chemical and Kraft Gardens (Alex Fell, Chip Barney,and Mike Whitehead) shot a 59 to win the $500 first place prize money and the championship trophy. The second place team from Earthwise Mulch (Rod Stanley, Steve Stanley, Rob Malcomson, and Rob Vincent) shot a 60 to win $200.

36 golfers participated in the tournament, and the team from Helena Chemical and Kraft Gardensshot a 59 to win the $500 first place prize money and the championship trophy. The second place team from Earthwise Mulch shot a 60 to win $200.

The event raised over $6,600, with portions of the proceeds going tothe Treasure Coast Chapter's endowment to the National Foliage Foundation and toFNGLA's endowment to the Univesity of Florida's IFAS SHARE Program.

The event was organized by the chapter's golf committee (made up of alex Fell and Michael McAneny) and executed by board members and volunteers (Marvin Pinder, Terri Pinder, Cindy Hall, Deb, Joneck, and Dawn Johnson).

We took your feedback from last year and ensured that the food at the lunch buffet was drastically improved. We hope to make this event bigger and better every year!
