Stuart, FL - Local chefs are preparing for the "prêt a manger" event at Molly's House, Monday, July 13, 2009. Molly's House is working on their 3rd cookbook and decided to include some local restaurants favorite recipes. Chef's can participate either by submitting a recipe or participate in our prêt a manger event where they could win the opportunity to be featured on one of the prominent section dividers in four color (chef and photo of recipe dish).
The prêt a manger recipes will be judged by three names you'll recognize: Bryan Garner, WPTV, Jan Norris, former food editor of the Palm Beach Post and Amanda Farinos, food critic. The judging begins at 4 p.m. with the winning chefs recipes will be featured in a prominent section divider in the new cookbook.
The Chef's will prepare "little plates" for the public to enjoy while benefiting Molly's House. The public is invited to sample "little plates" beginning at 5:30 p.m. for a donation of $15.00. The event will be held at Molly's House, 430 SE Osceola Street, Stuart. The event is limited to the first 75 people, so come early and enjoy the delicious recipes. Restaurants so far who have signed up to participate include: Collette's Café, Chantel's and Café Copenhagen (Jupiter).
Advance reservations are suggested by calling 772.223.6659.
The public is invited to submit a recipe(s) in one of the following categories by July 30, 2009. Recipe categories include: Appetizers, Soups, Salads, Sauces, Vegetables, Entrees (Beef, Pork, Fish, Meatless meals), Desserts, Breads, Rolls, Pastries an d Beverages. Recipes submitted must be types. Please include your name, address and phone number with your submission. The new cookbooks will be available in November 2009. Recipes may be faxed over to Molly's House at 772.223.9990 or mailed.
Molly's House is a hospital hospitality house that provides temporary lodging for patients and their family during a medical crisis. The 501c3 organization has helped over 5800 patients and their families since opening in 1996. Molly's House will never turn away a family because they can not make a room donation. Special events like this "prêt a manger" help cover the cost of those families who need a hand up. Molly's House is open 24/7 and accepts patients and families by referral from hospitals, doctors, medical facilities, hospice, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home healthcare agencies, churches and others in the medical profession.
