The official installation of the United Way of St. Lucie County's board officers and members took place on June 25th during the Annual Trustees' Luncheon held at the Pelican Yacht Club in Fort Pierce. Representative Adam Fetterman was the guest speaker at the event and conducted the official swearing in of officers and renewing board members.
Terri Sloan-Bartz of Seacoast National Bank was elected Board Chair after her many years of service on the board, including two consecutive years as Campaign Chair. The remaining officers elected for 2009-2010 are: Linnes Finney, Esq. of Gary, Williams, Finney, Lewis, Watson & Sperando, P.L. was elected Vice Chairman; Julie Bland of QVC, St. Lucie West, Inc. was elected Secretary; George Johnson of Lynch, Johnson & Long, LLP was elected Treasurer; and Roger Thomas of Florida Power & Light/IBEW will serve as Immediate Past Chairman.
Current board members elected to new three-year terms include Pat Alley of Riverside National Bank; Julie Bland of QVC, St. Lucie, Inc.; Christie Briggs-Goldson of Wal-Mart Distribution Center #7038; Fred Fischer from Harbour Ridge Yacht & Country Club; Thom Padrick of Publix; Marge Riley of First Peoples Bank, and Roger Thomas of Florida Power & Light/IBEW.
The newest member of the United Way Board of Directors is Allen Roberts, EdD from Indian River State College. He will fill the seat vacated by retiring board member Marsha Thompson, who received an award for her 10 years of service as a United Way Board Member.
Representative Fetterman spoke about the importance of giving back to the community and thanked the United Way volunteers for their commitment to make a difference in St. Lucie County.
