SLC Library Offers Events For Everyone

FORT PIERCE - The St. Lucie County Library System several events at the Fort Pierce Branch Library throughout January including environmental lectures, movies and financial seminars.

Every Monday from 2 - 4 p.m. enjoy "Movies for Adults," featuring "Clash by Night" (1952) featuring Paul Douglas and Marilyn Monroe on Jan. 8; "Juarez" (1939) featuring Paul Muni and Betty Davis on Jan. 22 and "Charlie Chan in Egypt" (1935) featuring Pat Peterson and Rita Hayworth on Jan. 29.

Every Wednesday from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. take part in a seminar on "Redirecting Children's Behavior."

Every Thursday from 3 - 4 p.m. learn about nature with Capt. Chop Lege in the Interactive Nature Series.

Every Friday from 1 - 2:30 p.m. join a "Walk & Talk" tour of a county mosquito impoundment with Capt. Chop Lege at either Bear Point Sanctuary or Vitolo Family Park on South Hutchinson Island. These tours are tied into the theme of Thursday's Interactive Nature Series.

Every first and third Thursday from 10 a.m. - noon take part in the Great Expectations Book Club, featuring "Lairs Club" by Mary Carr on Jan. 4 and "Peace Like A River" by Leif Enger on Jan. 18.

Tuesday, Jan. 2 from 7- 9 p.m. participate in the Big Apple Breast Cancer Support Group.

Wednesday, Jan. 10 & 31 from 10:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. climb aboard a pontoon boat with Capt. Chop Lege for a free educational tour of the Indian River Lagoon.

Tuesday, Jan. 16 & 30 from 2 - 4 p.m. learn about "Financial Budgeting and Credit Card Management" with Carol Alberts of the St. Lucie County Extension Office. For information about this award-winning presentation call (772) 462-1660.

Tuesday, Jan. 23 from 1 - 3 p.m. find out more about affordable housing at a seminar presented by J.P. Gellerman with the St. Lucie County Extension Office. For more information about this workshop call (772) 462-1660.
