CASTLE Celebrates Second Kentucky Derby Party In Martin County
CASTLE, an organization for the prevention of child abuse, held its second Kentucky Derby Party on Saturday, May 5th, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in Palm City. The event took place at the home of board member Rob Schweiger.
The Kentucky Derby Party served as a fundraiser for the services of CASTLE in Martin County. Due to the generosity of many new CASTLE friends at the event, the funds raised during the four-hour event far exceeded expectations.
The party featured a hat contest and singing entertainment by the host's niece, Megan Moran. Additionally, internationally renown artist (and Port St. Lucie-based) Bob Schindler was present for the silent auction of several framed prints of his unique equine paintings.
CASTLE has been serving Martin County with its parenting education services for many years, and the organization is working hard to increase visibility for its role within this community. The private-home fundraiser represented one of several events intended to bring CASTLE's goals and purpose closer to the citizens of Martin County.
CASTLE, a United Way partner organization, now in its 26 th year, is dedicated to the improvement of family life quality and the prevention of child abuse and neglect by providing community education, support and resources for parents in need of assistance. CASTLE facilities are located in St. Lucie, Martin and Indian River Counties.
