The Gator nation has been celebrating since racking up another football national title in early January - but the Treasure Coast Gator Club plans to continue the festivities throughout April with a week of orange and blue themed fun. First, the Gator Club will confer $20,500 in scholarships to area students attending the University of Florida. Then, the tri-county based club will host its inaugural inshore and offshore fishing tournament to raise funds for future scholarships.
The Treasure Coast Gator Club invites Gator fans to attend their marquis event, the "Treasure Coast Gator Toast," an annual dinner where money raised from the community provides opportunities for area students. Presented by George E. Warren Corporation, the Toast will be held at the Moorings Club in Vero Beach on Tuesday, April 21. This exciting evening will kick off at 5:30 PM with a cocktail hour featuring the club's signature drink, the "Bourbon Meyer" and the opportunity to win game tickets and a signed Urban Meyer football. After guest mix and mingle with fellow Gator fans, the night will give way to a fantastic "tailgate-themed" dining experience and the awarding of $20,500 in scholarships. The night will culminate with football star Chris Doering regaling tales of Gator glory and thoughts on the upcoming season.
Tickets for the event are $50 for members, $55 for non-members and $25 for children under 12 years of age. Interested parties can download a reservation form online at
