The Downtown Business Association of Ft. Pierce will hold a Halloween poker run to benefit Pink Tie Friends, Inc. on Saturday, October 31, 2009.
"We've all had someone close to us with breast cancer," said Lisa Spagnuolo, President of the Downtown Business Association of Ft. Pierce. "And when our board met with Pink Tie Friends, we were happy to come together to support such a worthy cause."
All proceeds will be donated to Pink Tie Friends, Inc. a non-profit public charity that provides financial support to Treasure Coast residents who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and are uninsured or under-insured.
The poker run will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the first checkpoint at The Pot Belli Deli, which is located at 101. N. 4th Street in downtown Ft. Pierce. The poker run will conclude at Jo Jo's Raw Bar at 122 N. 2nd Street in Ft. Pierce. There are a total of seven checkpoints between downtown Ft. Pierce and Sebastian, with participants drawing a playing card at each stop.
A $300 cash prize will be awarded for the best hand. To play, there is a $10 fee per hand and many participants will travel between checkpoints by motorcycle.
