LIBRARIES HOST HEARLING LOSS TALKS SEPT. 16, OCT.6

FORT PIERCE - The Treasure Coast Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America will present two lectures at two St. Lucie County Libraries with guest speaker Tom Christopher, emergency management coordinator for St. Lucie County's Public Safety Department.

Christopher will speak at the Fort Pierce Branch Library on Tuesday, Sept. 16 from 6-8 p.m. and at the Morningside Branch Library on Monday, Oct. 6 in Room 103 from 5:30-8 p.m. He will be discussing the provisions for those with disabilities in cases of emergency, including Reverse 911.

Christopher retired from the Air Force in1989 and is a native of Stuart. He co-chairs the St. Lucie County Special Needs Shelter Oversight Committee and is a member of the County Organizations Assisting in Disasters (COAD) and a member of the Florida Emergency Preparedness Association (FEPA).

These meetings are free and open to the public.
