HEARING LOSS GROUP SPECIAL MEETING

On Saturday, October 4th, the Treasure Coast Chapter of the Hearing Loss

Association of America hosted the Hearing Loss Association of Florida Board annual

meeting at Indian River State College. The meeting included two guest speakers,

including Flo Innes, who spoke about the many assistive listening devices available

to the hard of hearing, and Brandy Harvey, who spoke about cochlear implants.

After the meeting, guests were able to try out various listening devices and speak

with the Harvey family's two young children who have cochlear implants.

Local meetings of the Treasure Coast Chapter are held in Ft. Pierce at the

downtown Ft. Pierce Branch Library, 101 Melody Lane, at 6:30 PM on the third

Tuesday of each month, and in Port St. Lucie at 11 AM at Fountain Plaza, 10016

S. Federal Highway on the second Tuesday of each month and in the evening on

the first Monday of each month at Morningside Library, 2401 Morningside Blvd. at

6:30 PM. Meetings are free an open to the public. For more information, go to
